The practice was founded in the Autumn of 1998. The projects cover a wide range of building types, from furniture, sculptures, bridges and exhibition stands, museums, performance spaces, schools, and libraries, to the extension of the cemetery island in Venice.

The aim of the practice is to remain involved in the design process, by seeing the structural engineering as one component of the total design. We work closely with our clients, architects and the rest of the design team.

The practice is led by Jane Wernick, who previously worked for Ove Arup & Partners as an Associate Director, where her most notable project was the Millennium Wheel.
