On June 25th JWA contributed to the ‘Anatomy of Civil Engineering’, as part of the London Festival of Architecture. This event was held at the Institution of Civil Engineers and featured a mobile composed of infrastructure models, suspended from the atrium of One Great George Street. The Xstrata Treetop Walkway at Kew, and a new pedestrian link to Rainham Marshes were included.

On 7 June JWA went on a cruise on a narrowboat, the Jenny Wren, with a group of the practice’s friends, to celebrate the handing over of Jane’s sole share in the company to a trust fund company that will own JWA for the benefit of all its employees, past and present. A condition of the handover is that JWA will continue to avoid all projects that contain a nuclear or military component. We are very fortunate that Jenny Baster and Robin Nicholson have agreed to be trustees, along with Jane. More here from ‘Building’ magazine.
